| Gold nuggets & golden talents in Artists of White Oaks Studio Tour by Pamela Cromwell The Artists of White Oaks invite you to their ninth annual studio tour on April 20 and 21, and this year you'll find more than arts and crafts at the old ghost town. For the first time ever, the shopping public can buy Lincoln County gold.
Artist and "rock-kicking" prospector Bob Reynierson, along with guests Jim and Eric Thomas, are collecting gold nuggets, flakes and gold dust in White Oaks, the nearby Jicarilla, and from Nogal Canyon... |
The Big Picture Gary Eklund is a big-picture kind of guy. Nowhere is that more evident than in his artwork (on the cover), narrative drawings often full of people, each contributing a detail of personality and function to the whole scheme. For Eklund, 12th Street in Carrizozo is a detail of larger developments in Lincoln County, which is part of the whole Southern New Mexico picture. His own Zozo Galleries, officially opening on May 4th, is an even more specific detail of 12th Street, one that is defining color, originality and opportunity in this little frontier town... |
