1. Registration: Registration Deadline is Tuesday, July 1st,2014. Late entries will be placed at the end of the line and will not be judged! Applications are due by 4:00pm Tuesday, July 1st, 2014
2. Line-Up and Disbursement: Lineup begins at 8:30 am.The Parade begins promptly at 10 am.Barring an
emergency, the parade will keep moving at 3-5 mph. All entries will be lined-up on Forrest and accompanying side
streets, with the exception of Fire, Emergency vehicles and Equestrian Entries, which will line up on Hwy 380, as
directed. The parade will end on 2nd Street after turning off Lincoln. You will be contacted with your line-up number and street instructions.
If you have not received your line-up number by July 2nd,
please contact Village Hall, 575-354-2247.
3. Dimensions & Design: Float dimensions should not exceed
Width: 13 feet, Length: 40' including tow vehicle and Height: 13'
4. ATV’s, 4-Wheelers, Dirt Bikes, Motorcycles & Similar Vehicles: these types of vehicles will be limited toorganized groups. Helmets and eye protection are required by law for everyone 18 and under on all such vehicles.
children16 and under are limited by law to driving a 90cc maximum,
5. All motorized vehicles must have state required Insurance.
6. Kids Entries: All float or pickup truck entries carring children 12 and under must have an accompanying adult on the float or in he bed of the pickup truck. Children 6 and under and bike or
walking entries must have adult supervision from start to finish on the parade route.
7. Candy must be thrown far enough off the road to prevent children entering the road to collect it.
This may be a hazard for the children and the parade paricipants behind you, which may be horses, motor vehicles,
bicycles or pedestrians. Please see that everyone in you group adheres strictly to this rule.
8. Judging: Entries will be provided line-up numbers that will be used for judging. the number must be placed
on the driver side of the vehicle or float, or on the backs of pedestrian, equestrian and bicycle entries.
If the number is not visible, the entry cannot be judged.
9. Awards: There will be awards in each category on the entry from. Judging will be based on interpretation of the
theme, workmanship, originality and overall impression. Entries will be judged as they pass the reviewing stand in
front of Mama Bear RV Park. A list of winners will be posted on the bulletin board Village Hall.
Awards will be available for pick up at Village Hall on July 5th.
Checking the Box on the Entry Form acknowledges that you have read, understand and will
comply with all the above rules and regulations governing the 4th of July Parade.
